The new Provo City Flag

Provo City is looking for a new flag design to replace what has been voted one of the ugliest city flags in America.

They released the following two flags as finalists to be voted on, but quickly everyone expressed their disdain for them.

The criteria:
It has to be simple. This means a child could draw it.
It should be symbolically rich with references to the city.
It can’t have more than a few simple colors that contrast well.
It can’t have letters or a seal.
It needs to be unique and not look like every other flag.
The flag can’t be trendy, meaning we need to stay away from things that say, “That was designed in 2014.” I love our city’s logo but that will likely change at some point.

I decided to keep the icon of Provo's mountains, but introduce the colors of the US flag, and play with the famous Y on the mountain.

The flag is unique and will be capable of standing the test of time.

Please vote on which option you prefer, and give feedback on what you think. The option with the most positive feedback will be submitted to the mayor's office.
